Open Standards

At Emageon, we support Java, HL7, JPEG2000 and DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) as the storage and communication protocol for digital medical images and related information. In order to guarantee rapid deployment of changes to the standard, enhance the performance and ensure the robustness of our offering, we developed an enterprise DICOM development environment for the Java platform, giving us superior server performance as well as hardware and operating system platform independence. We have patents pending on key performance and scalability enhancements to better manage DICOM objects.
